I’ve lost 23 pounds and counting over the course of the last 5 months. I’m really proud of myself, as it’s the most weight I’ve ever lost and the most committed I’ve ever stayed to an individual diet. It’s been hard work, but the rewards here have been more than obvious as I look the best I’ve looked in years.

I’m sure I’ve been able to stick to this regime better than any other because of how much pleasure I’m getting from it. I feel so good. Let me tell you how I’ve managed this.

In the first place, on this diet I eat no artificial sugar whatsoever, and no cane sugar. The sugars that naturally occur in fruits and vegetables take their place.

One of the main causes of obesity and diabetes is high fructose corn syrup, so I’ve been very careful to avoid this.

It’s quite surprising how many foods contain this artificial sweetener – even bread and ketchup do.

I’ve also been exercising very regularly. It took my body a little while to get used to it, but I’m now running 5 days per week and I’m trying to run faster and longer every week. This makes me feel great, and it obviously burns calories.

Lastly, I’ve stopped drinking diet sodas. Even though they contain no calories, I’ve looked into the subject and discovered they can actually make you put on weight.

The chemicals in diet sodas fool our brains into thinking we’re taking in sugars. But this is not a good thing for us because our bodies then go on to react as if we really were. So, there’s no gain except for weight gain. Instead of sodas and their artificial additives, I’m now drinking water and feeling better for it.
